Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 April 2026

This policy explains what personal data AusbildungWorks collects when you visit our website or take the Ausbildung eligibility quiz, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We try to keep this short and readable. If anything is unclear, write to us at the address below and we will explain it.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller responsible for processing your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Nikolay Abrosov
Scanbox 20813
Ehrenbergstraße 16a
10245 Berlin
Germany

Email: privacy [at] ausbildungworks [dot] de

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because we are not legally required to. You can reach our data protection contact at the email above.

2. What data we collect and why

We only process data that we actually need. The categories below cover everything we collect.

a. Eligibility quiz answers

When you take the quiz, your answers (age range, country of origin, qualifications, savings range, work experience, target field, etc.) are processed in your browser to calculate your result. When you submit the contact form at the end of the quiz, your answers and the calculated result are saved to our database together with your contact details.

Legal basis: Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by submitting the contact form with the consent checkbox ticked.
Purpose: Sending you your result, following up about your Ausbildung pathway, and improving the quiz.

b. Contact details

First name, last name, email address, and (optionally) your phone number with country code for WhatsApp follow-up.

Legal basis: Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Purpose: Sending you your quiz result and related guidance about Ausbildung in Germany.

c. Server log data

When you load any page, our hosting provider automatically records your IP address, the page requested, the timestamp, your browser type, and the referrer. This is standard for any website on the internet and is needed to deliver the page to you and to detect attacks.

Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: Server logs are kept for up to 30 days, then deleted or anonymised.

d. Analytics and advertising

If you give consent through our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel, the TikTok pixel, and the Google Ads conversion pixel to understand how people find and use our site and to measure advertising effectiveness. These tools set cookies and process technical data including your IP address, device identifiers, browser characteristics, and pages viewed. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation.

Legal basis:Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and §25(1) TTDSG), given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in our footer.
Purpose: Measuring traffic, understanding which content helps people, and improving our advertising.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers (data processors) we need to run the website and follow up on your quiz result. Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

Where data is transferred to the United States, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (where the recipient is certified) and on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) where it is not. You acknowledge that US authorities may, in some cases, request access to data held by US providers.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to make the website work (for example, to remember your cookie preferences and to keep your quiz state during the session). These do not require consent.

All other cookies and pixels — analytics and advertising — are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Quiz answers and contact details: kept for as long as you are an active contact, plus up to 24 months after your last interaction with us. After that we delete or anonymise the record.
  • Email follow-up records in Brevo: kept for as long as you are subscribed, plus a short retention window after unsubscribe for legal proof of consent (max. 3 years).
  • Server logs: up to 30 days.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics retention is configured to 14 months.
  • Cookie consent records: 12 months, so we can prove you were asked before cookies were set.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights under the GDPR. To use any of them, write to privacy [at] ausbildungworks [dot] de. We respond within one month.

  • Access (Art. 15) — get a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure (Art. 17) — have your data deleted, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction (Art. 18) — limit how we use your data while a question is being resolved.
  • Data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)) — withdraw any consent you gave us, with effect for the future. To unsubscribe from emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77) — you can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence or with our competent authority, the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin).

7. Automated decision-making

The eligibility quiz uses a deterministic scoring formula to estimate how strong your profile is for each Ausbildung field. This is a calculation based on public statistics, not a legal or visa decision. It does not produce legal effects within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. The result is informational only — a human advisor should review your specific case before you take any major step.

8. Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic. Our hosting and database providers run in EU data centres with industry-standard physical and logical security controls. Access to your contact data inside our team is limited to people who need it to follow up with you.

9. Children

Our service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our quiz, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our tools or processes change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page tells you the version. For material changes that affect how we use your data, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect.

11. Contact

For any privacy question, write to privacy [at] ausbildungworks [dot] de. Our full company details are in our Imprint.
